Himmerlandsstien in Viborg, bicycle and walking path

When the railway between Viborg and Løgstør was closed, the construction of the nature track, Himmelandsstien, was initiated along the 69 km long railway line. Today Himmerlandsstien is one of Denmark's longest nature tracks along a former railway line and makes for a great experience in beautiful nature.

Alhedestien, bicycle and walking path

The railway path between Viborg and Herning is also known as Alhedestien (cycle route no. 21) and is built on the disused Herning-Viborg railway line. The continuous trail system between Viborg and Herning is approximately 49 kilometres long and is great for hiking, cycling and horseback riding.

Around Viborg Lakes - on foot and by bike

Experience the magnificent nature around the Viborg Lakes with a hike, run or bike ride around Nørresø and Søndersø. The full route is approximately 11 kilometres and offers beautiful views, green surroundings and tranquility close to the city. If you want a shorter trip, you can choose to just walk or cycle around one of the lakes.
