Rules and guidelines for Surf and SUP
There are several things to be aware of before heading out on a Sup Board. Among other things, you must always wear a life jacket and you must obey the rules of the road for boats.
With the following 5 basic rules, we want to help you have a safe trip on the water.
- ALWAYS use a leash (rope that connects you to the board)
- Remember to wear a PFD/life jacket (it's illegal to paddle without)
- Bring your phone in a waterproof bag
- Don't go alone on the water and inform someone where you will go and when you expect to return
- ALWAYS check wind and weather conditions before going out. Do not go out in offshore winds if you are a beginner or slightly experienced
SUP on lakes
Be aware that not all lakes are suitable for paddling. It is not allowed to paddle on the following lakes near Silkeborg: Schoubyes Sø (The artificial lake), Mørksø, Snabe Iglesø, Hundsø, Velling Iglsø and Slåen Sø. Read more on Surf & SUP (danish) about special rules in and around Silkeborg.
