The Forest True Skov by Aarhus
At True Forest, not far from the center of Aarhus, there is something for everyone. True Forest has plenty of options for a day trip filled with activities or relaxing in one of the many green open spaces.
True Skov is almost the largest forest area in Aarhus, so there's plenty of room to romp around, even for energetic souls.
More than just a forest
As you trot through True Skov, you'll encounter not only forest, but also a lake and open areas where you can enjoy the sight of diverse wildlife. And if you get hungry, you can always take a rest in the deep tranquillity of the forest or by the lake and enjoy your packed lunch in the open air.
True Skov and Skjoldhøjkilen extend all the way into Hasle Bakker, where Aarhus' most challenging hiking and cycling routes can be found. If you're more into regular fitness, you can also work up a sweat at one of the outdoor fitness parks.
"The heart of Winter" by Jørn Rønnau
In the centre of True Skov is the artwork ‘The Heart of Winter’, created by Danish sculptor and artist Jørn Rønnau. Jørn Rønnau works with art in the landscape, and you can find many of his artworks around the Danish landscape.
Cross-country skiing on a winter day
A walk in the woods on a winter's day is fantastic, and if there's a beautiful white blanket of snow, you can put on your cross-country skis and enjoy it even more - as if you were in the Norwegian Highlands. You'll have to think about the moose, but the beautiful surroundings can and should be enjoyed whether you have your skis or winter boots on.
