Family-friendly beaches close to city and nature

Moesgård Beach
Moesgård Beach (or Moesgaard Beach) is a sandy beach at the edge of Marselisborg Forest, 5 miles south of the city centre. We recommend bus route 31 to get to Moesgård Beach or you can take bus 18 to Moesgaard Museum, and walk from there (1,1 miles).
Åkrogen Beach
Åkrogen Beach offers many excellent outdoor activities, bathing, beachgames, ballgames, hanggliding, and walks (a.o. by the path crossing the bridge at Egå to Egå Marina, and along the beach towards the town to Bellevue).
Ajstrup Beach
Ajstrup Beach is a beautiful sandy beach less than 10 miles south of Aarhus.
Tangkrogen
Tangkrogen is a public park and area in Aarhus near the beach. The park is situated near the city centre by the coast and close to the Marselis Wood. The park is bounded by the beautiful Strandvejen and Marselis Havnevej.
Mariendal Beach
At the end of the green forest lies Mariendal Strand. The beach is ideal if you like bonfires and fun. With the forest as a backdrop, you can also swim, fish, play in the sand and at the end of the day even grill your dinner on a bonfire.
