The coastal battery at Bønnerup

The coastline at Bønnerup hides a dramatic history. This was the site of Djursland's only battery that took part in combat during the Napoleonic Wars – and traces from both the 1800s and World War II can still be seen in the landscape.

The coastal battery at Bønnerup was the only battery in Djursland that was battle during the Napolean war. The remains can be seen under the mouth of the Treåen "three stream". The powder house still remains. Trenches and lookouts from World War 2 can also be seen.
