In the Concert Hall café there are frequent admission-free events, including concerts featuring the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra or choral concerts. Sit down at one of the tables and enjoy the music and the wonderful surroundings.
Skolegade street is a great place to go for a night on the town. This street is located in the area behind the Aarhus Å river. There are many restaurants in this area serving food at very reasonable prices and many cosy music venues. There is always a good chance of encountering a live concert featuring a wide range of music genres from blues to soul and from pop to rock. Fatter Eskil is just one good place where you can drop in for some live music.
Stand-up comedy, salsa, a mellow guitar concert, poem recitations, lectures – there is a bit of everything for all tastes when you climb the stairs to the “Gyngen” cultural venue, which is situated in a back-garden in the Mejlgade street.
At many of the cafés there are frequently concerts, such at the Globen Flakket by the river.

Aarhus Theatre
The Aarhus Theatre is a historic theater in the heart of Aarhus. With 4 stages and a total of 1,200 seats it is one of the most popular cultural attractions in Aarhus. The listed building just opposite the Cathedral was designed by the architect Hack Kampmann, and was inaugurated in 1900. The Theatre has an all-embracing repertoire during the season from early September until mid-June, including some 15 of its own productions and also a few guest performances.
