Viborg City Hall

Viborg Town Hall stands as a pioneering example of sustainable architecture in Denmark. Inaugurated in 2011, the town hall actively participated in the EU project Best Energy, alongside other European cities. The architecture is a masterpiece crafted by Henning Larsen Architects.

Sustainability and Energy Efficiency in Focus

Beyond being an architectural gem in the heart of Viborg, Viborg Town Hall is a living testament to the city's commitment to sustainability. Both externally and internally, advanced systems such as groundwater facilities, heat pumps, solar panels, and thermoactive constructions with integrated cooling and heating coils have been implemented.

The town hall's roof is a green roof, where moss collects rainwater for reuse instead of directing it into the sewer system. The rainwater contributes, among other things, to the filling of the artificial lake in Town Hall Park.

Automated Energy Management

The town hall operates with fully automated control of heating, cooling, and ventilation. Sensor-controlled lighting responds to movement, while light levels are adjusted in relation to natural daylight to create an optimal working environment.
