Twist & Shine - light art at Aarhus Festival

Twist & Shine is an interactive light artwork by the British artist collective Kaleider. At Hack Kampmanns Plads in Aarhus, you can help shape the work yourself during Aarhus Festival.

Create your own shape

The work consists of interconnected prisms that can be twisted and shaped in thousands of different ways. Each time you change a sculpture, you build on what others have created before you, allowing the installation to take on new forms throughout the festival.

Follow your own idea, develop shapes created by others or make something together with the people around you. In this way, the audience becomes an active part of the art experience.

Light art, play and community

Kaleider works with installation, light, live performance and digital elements. With Twist & Shine, the artist collective uses play and participation to create encounters between people.

The installation changes again and again throughout Aarhus Festival. During the day, you can experience and shape the sculptures without lighting, while in the evening they light up and take on a different appearance.

Practical information

• Twist & Shine can be experienced from 28 August to 5 September 2026.
• The artwork is located at Hack Kampmanns Plads in Aarhus.
• The sculptures are unlit in the afternoon and illuminated in the evening.
• The area is accessible to wheelchair users.
• The sculptures must not be used as seats or climbed on.
