The solar-powered ferry - Solfærgen Søhøjlandet

The Sun Ferry trip itself takes a few minutes, but the short route means you can save many kilometres if you walk or cycle along the lakes in and around Silkeborg.

Experience the Himmelbjergruten from the water

Take an atmospheric boat trip with Solfærgen - Denmark's oldest ferry crossing - and experience the beautiful lake landscape of Gudenåen between Silkeborg and Ry. Since 2015, the ferry has been powered by solar energy and became the country's first solar-powered passenger ferry.

Peaceful boat trip

The solar ferry travels between Skyttehuset and Ålekroen in Svejbæk - the only place where you can cross the lakes without getting wet toes. Here you can enjoy a peaceful boat trip in the heart of Søhøjlandet, surrounded by beech forest and mirror-like water.

Sailing throughout the camping season

The ferry runs from March to October and has no fixed schedule. Possible sailing times vary depending on high and low season. Remember that you can expect a 15-20 minute wait if you book on site.
