An open-air fairy tale

The Snow Queen
Here you can experience H.C. Andersen's fairy tale, in which a magic mirror created by the Devil makes everything good appear ugly and ridiculous. The mirror shatters, and glass shards rain down on the human world, where the children Kay and Gerda live in heartfelt friendship. But when Kay gets a glass splinter from the magic mirror in his eye, his joy and zest for life suddenly turn into mockery and calculating cynicism. His cold arrogance attracts the Snow Queen herself, who lures him to her with ice-cold kisses and embraces. Suddenly, Kay has disappeared from Gerda. And no one knows where he has gone.
The performance is aimed at both children and adults and is recommended for children aged 8 and above.
Unique stage setting in nature
The performance takes place outdoors on the grounds of Moesgaard Museum in Højbjerg, south of Aarhus, where nature becomes an active part of the scenography. The combination of moving scenery, atmospheric lighting and the museum's scenic surroundings creates a very special experience that you will not find in a classic theatre hall.
