Art and Intimacy in Jægergårdsgade

In the heart of bustling Jægergårdsgade in Aarhus, you’ll find Sidsel Brix’s open studio and gallery. Here, the local visual artist works daily on large abstract landscape paintings, where colours, shapes and moods create a sense of calm, balance and contemplation.

The gallery offers you the chance to get up close to the artistic process and experience the works in the very surroundings where they are created. The atmosphere is personal and welcoming, and you can often meet the artist herself in the studio.

Abstract landscapes and poetic drawings

Sidsel Brix works primarily with large-format abstract landscape paintings. The paintings revolve around both external and internal landscapes and invite contemplation and sensory experiences.

Alongside her painting, she also works as an illustrator. In the gallery, you will therefore find drawings with a more whimsical and poetic style, created for children and those with a keen eye.

Humorous sculptures in the gallery
