Come and see up to 40 historic wooden ships, enjoy live music and soak up the maritime atmosphere when Nordisk Skudetræf, a Nordic gathering of historic sailing ships, docks at Sydhavnen in Grenaa. Several ships will be open to visitors on board.

Historic wooden ships fill the harbour
Nordisk Skudetræf, a Nordic gathering of historic sailing ships, brings up to 40 historic wooden vessels to the South Harbour in Grenaa. The ships arrive from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands, mooring alongside the wooden quay on Søndre Kajgade and in the old fishing harbour.
From the quayside, you can explore the traditional vessels and see maritime craftsmanship at close quarters. Several of the ships will also open to visitors during the event.
Music and entertainment on the quayside
The ships provide the setting for an evening of music, food and entertainment by the water.
The programme includes:
- 17:00-21:00: See the wooden ships at Søndre Kajgade and in the old fishing harbour
- Live music in the fishing harbour
- 18:00-19:00: Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri serves a meal on the wooden quay
- 19:00-21:00: Entertainment in front of Siloen
- Beer, wine, soft drinks and coffee available to purchase
A living maritime heritage
Nordisk Skudetræf brings together traditional sailing vessels and crews from several countries. The name refers to a Nordic gathering of historic sailing ships. Its purpose is to keep old seafaring traditions and maritime heritage alive by continuing to use and sail the vessels.
The visit to Grenaa is the first stop of the wider gathering. The following day, the vessels sail on to Aarhus, where the programme continues with sailing and maritime activities on Aarhus Bay. Read more here.
