Fire Festival Regatta in Silkeborg
The Fire Festival Regatta in Silkeborg is Denmark's largest and oldest folk festival, lighting up the beautiful Lake District Søhøjlandet around Silkeborg, the lakes and the entire lakefront. Experience music, artists, street art and, last but not least, the big Regatta show.
Silkeborg's traditional folk festival since 1899
The town as a living stage
When the Ildfest Regatta gets underway, the whole of Silkeborg town centre, the harbour area and the waterfront become one big open stage. Thousands of guests gather here for a week-long celebration filled with atmosphere, culture and city life.
Experience music, food and movement
The programme is wide-ranging – from big Danish music names and local talents to sporting events that take place both on land and on water. In addition, there are taste experiences from food stalls, street food and local specialities that invite both curiosity and community.
Street art and illuminating experiences
Streets and squares are filled with site-specific street art and installations that showcase the city and the surrounding landscape. And as darkness falls, beautiful boat parades and scenography illuminate Silkeborg Langsø.
A show beyond the ordinary
The festival culminates with the grand Regatta Show – a spectacular total experience with light, water, drones, fireworks, music and local performers. A sensory and unforgettable ending to one of Denmark's most traditional events.
