A fredagsbar (Friday Bar) is a Danish tradition where students or colleagues gather on Friday afternoon in a relaxed setting to have a drink together and socialise at the end of the week.
Sports, activities and community
Denmark's Largest Friday Bar and Sports Day (often abbreviated to DSFI) is a large student-run event organised by the Student Council at Aarhus University. The day combines sports and sports tournaments with social activities, music programmes and a large Friday bar, creating a setting for competition, community and celebration.
The sports tournaments typically include football, volleyball, handball, ultimate and other team-based activities, where students compete against each other across programmes and years. The atmosphere is social, with a focus on both participation and community.
Festive atmosphere and music
In addition to the sporting activities, DSFI offers musical experiences, with several stages and live acts creating a great atmosphere in the afternoon and evening. In previous years, the event has also attracted big names on the music scene, and the programme lineup is announced regularly on the event's official channels.
The Friday bar includes bars and food stalls with a wide selection of drinks and snacks.
