The Celtic World – Europe´s Lost Legacy at Moesgaard Museum
Discover the fascinating exhibition The Celtic World at Moesgaard Museum south of Aarhus – a journey into an often overlooked part of Europe's ancient history.
Step into the unknown world of the Celts
Moesgaard Museum is opening a special exhibition on Europe's forgotten past. The focus is on the Celts – a people and a culture that has had enormous significance for the European continent over the centuries, but which is often overshadowed by stories about the Romans, Greeks and Vikings.
An exhibition of international calibre
The exhibition showcases more than 550 unique objects from some of Europe's leading museums and collections, including weapons, jewellery and ritual artefacts. Many of the objects are on display in Denmark for the very first time, drawing connections between present-day France, Germany and Austria and the Danish Iron Age.
A sensory experience for the family
The story is brought to life through dramatic exhibition design, lighting and sound, which vividly evoke the warrior culture and worldview of the Celts. The interpretation blends historical insight with immersive storytelling, creating an experience where both children and adults can explore the fascinating world of the Celts.
