Møllestien - an idyllic cobbled street in the heart of Aarhus

The old idyllic Møllestien lane is a picturesque cobbled street right in the centre of Aarhus. The hollyhocks and rambling roses race each other to grow up against the tiny old half-timbered houses with their small-paned windows.

A street full of history and charm

Møllestien is one of Aarhus' oldest and most photographed streets – and with good reason. The small pastel-coloured houses, hollyhocks along the walls and cobblestone pavement create a special atmosphere that makes visitors stop and enjoy the moment.

The pace here is slow, and you get a rare glimpse into a bygone era. The street was once inhabited by workers and small craftsmen, and many of the houses date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, Møllestien is a peaceful haven in the middle of Aarhus – and a favourite destination for both locals and tourists with cameras in hand.

Worth a visit – all year round

Whatever the season, Møllestien has something special to offer. In summer, the hollyhocks bloom and the colourful facades light up in the sun. In winter, the street is transformed into an almost fairy-tale scene with snow on the old rooftops and lights in the windows.

Møllestien is close to Aarhus' city life and cultural offerings. From the street, it is only a few minutes' walk to ARoS, Musikhuset and the vibrant Latin Quarter.
