Discover Viborg from the water

With Margrethe I, you can discover Viborg from a new angle. This charming tour boat sails on Nørresø and Søndersø, offering views of the city, the lakes and the green surroundings of Viborg.

The boat trip lasts approximately one hour and starts and ends at the bridge by Golf Salonen at Hans Tausens Alle 2. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a peaceful break on the water and a lovely view of Viborg’s skyline, the nature along the lakes and several of the city’s famous landmarks.

A boat trip on Nørresø and Søndersø

The route takes you through the Viborg lakes, showcasing the city from its picturesque waterside. On Nørresø, you can see Borgvold, Bibelhaven, Nørresøbadet and Nørremølle Enge, amongst other sights. On Søndersø, the boat passes Viborg Kunsthal, sØnæs, Strandparken, the Forest Botanical Garden, Klosterskoven and Asmild Church, amongst other sights.

The trip is ideal if you want to combine city experiences, nature and sightseeing in Viborg. From the deck, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the sea air, the views and the ever-changing landscape around the city.

Queen of the Viborg Lakes

Margrethe I has been sailing on the Viborg Lakes since 1990 and is now a well-known part of the city’s maritime scene. The ship was built in 1935 and is approved to carry 65 passengers.

In addition to the regular cruises, Margrethe I can also be chartered for parties, corporate events and club functions. The organiser advises that trips may be cancelled, including the last trip of the day, if there are no or few bookings.
