Parking in Aarhus

When you visit Aarhus by car, it is nice to be able to know beforehand, where to park your car. Below, you can find information on where to park while you are in town.

Parking is available all around town and close to the city centre, as well. The parking sites are operated by different companies, and prices vary depending on where you choose to park your car.

Please note that in most places, both outdoor and indoor parking, payment is made in advance. Therefore, you should always register upon arrival and pay when leaving the parking area.

Free Parking

It is not possible to park for free in the city centre. But not far from the centre you can park for free at Tangkroen, near Ceres Park or by Tivoli Friheden.

Parking Zones in Aarhus

The heart of Aarhus has been sectioned into two zones with individual payment schemes – a red zone and a yellow zone.

The red zone covers most of the city centre. Here, you are charged for parking on weekdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. and on Sundays from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

The yellow zone covers most of the outer parts of the city centre. Here, the first two hours of your parking period is free, when you sign up your vehicle online or at the parking meter. After the first two hours, you will be charged for parking on weekdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. and from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sundays.

Low emission zones

Please note that an environmental zone has been established in the center of Aarhus.

The environmental zone includes, among other things, larger vehicles and older diesel cars. Read more at www.miljøzoner.dk or check your registration number here.
