At Bjørnen i Bjergene you can stay in beautiful, authentic Mongolian yurts, inspired by the round nomad tents of Central Asia. They are well hidden in the middle of nature - far away from noise and disturbances. Here there is peace, presence and space for contemplation in the most breathtaking surroundings.
Owned by Bjørn Haugum, the place is named with a twinkle in its eye - The Bear in the Mountains - a fitting title for this peaceful, wild and adventurous place.
The three yurts - choose your favourite
Choose from three original Mongolian yurts, each with its own character and charm:
- The Green - Romantic yurt with wood-burning stove (2 people)
Perfect for couples looking for an intimate and atmospheric experience. - The Blue - Adventurous yurt with wood-burning stove (2-4 people)
Suitable for a small family or a couple of friends who want to enjoy the tranquillity of nature together. - The Orange - Authentic yurt with pizza hut (2-6 people)
Ideal for groups of friends or families with children. It's more secluded and offers extra comfort with a large pizza hut and long table.
An experience in itself
Access to the yurts is on foot - park your car about 900 metres away. So bring a good backpack for the essentials. This short hike is part of the experience - you'll immediately feel that you're moving away from everyday life and into something special.
More than just accommodation
The stay can be combined with activities such as guided mountain bike tours in the national park. Bjørn also offers tailor-made group stays for groups of 4-20 people, where togetherness, nature and intimacy take centre stage.
Practical information
You can rent one yurt or all three. Each yurt has its own private sphere and fire pit, with 100-300 metres between them, giving you peace and quiet. The yurts are ideal for both romantic getaways and cosy shared experiences - all filled with warmth, charm and the presence of nature.
