Open House: Stories from Forest Life

When the Forest Workers’ House opens its doors, you step into a story about life in and around the forest at Gammel Estrup. The house offers a vivid insight into how forest workers and their families lived and worked.

You encounter history at eye level through displays and activities that make it easy to understand everyday life in a bygone era. The focus here is on work, family life and the conditions that characterised life close to nature.

If you fancy a short walk, you can join a guided tour from the car park through the forest and up to the Forest Workers’ House.
