Manor house Christmas between Christmas and New Year at Gammel Estrup

Experience the authentic Christmas spirit in historic surroundings when Gammel Estrup opens its doors for a special Christmas event. The manor house is transformed into a living Christmas universe full of festive cheer.

Christmas exhibition

The Christmas exhibition ‘Christmas for the gentry and servants’ provides an atmospheric insight into Christmas at Gammel Estrup Manor Museum. The manor kitchen is buzzing with Christmas preparations, where cakes and dishes are being prepared for the many guests who once celebrated the holiday at the manor. The dining room is set for a distinguished Christmas dinner for the gentry, while the servants' quarters show the simpler traditions among the servants. The Christmas tree stands resplendent in the Knights' Hall, and in the elegant living rooms you can experience the atmosphere from when the count's family gathered for coffee, the children's Christmas joy filled the rooms, and the sounds from the grand piano set the mood for classic Christmas carols.
