Jean-Efflam Bavouzet interprets Debussy

The French pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet is to perform at Musikhuset Aarhus with a concert programme paying tribute to Claude Debussy’s musical world. Bavouzet is regarded as one of the leading interpreters of the French piano repertoire and has received numerous international awards for his recordings and concert performances.

The audience will be treated to Debussy’s *Préludes*, Book 1, the world-famous *Clair de lune*, *Arabesque No. 1* and the work *Jeux*. The concert offers nuanced soundscapes, poetic moods and virtuoso piano playing.

Part of the ‘The World’s Most Important Works’ series

The concert forms part of Musikhuset’s concert series ‘The World’s Most Important Works’, in which international pianists interpret some of the most significant works in the piano repertoire. The series is curated in collaboration with Søren Rastogi and Mathias Hammer and offers the audience the opportunity to experience some of the world’s leading piano soloists in Aarhus.

Pre-concert introduction

One hour before the concert begins, the audience is invited to a pre-concert introduction on the Musikhuset café stage. Here, presenter Mathias Hammer will provide an insight into Debussy’s music, the composer’s world and the evening’s programme, adding further perspective to the concert experience.
