International Women's Day at KØN
In keeping with tradition, KØN - Gender Museum Denmark celebrates International Women's Day. KØN places particular emphasis on the desire for a better future.
8 March
International Women's Day was proposed in 1910 at the International Women's Congress in Copenhagen by Clara Zetkin, a German socialist and president of the Women's Congress. Equality was the main headline, and it included the demand that women be given political influence, education and work on an equal footing with men. Since 1921, 8 March has been celebrated around the world.
