Høgdal - a cultural and historical visitor centre near Silkeborg
Høgdal Visitor Farm is a cultural-historical gem, located in the middle of the beautiful nature in the Lake District Søhøjlandet close to Silkeborg. Høgdal is a farm dating back to 1796, where you can experience and meet the two brothers Jens and Peder, the fifth generation to live on the farm until 1976.
At Høgdal you can experience life as it was in the old days with historical workshops and various events throughout the year. The visitor centre has an exciting and unusual history - and that history is the reason why the farm is now open to anyone interested.
Høgdal dates back to 1796, when Jens Jensen Lemming and his family built the farm. Since then, the property has been passed down from father to son for five generations.
The fifth generation on the farm was Jens and Peder Jensen. The two brothers are the focal point of Høgdal's history and the reason why today we have a fine visitor farm where time has been allowed to stand still.
