Father Christmas arrives in Silkeborg
Come along and find Father Christmas in Silkeborg
The Christmas spirit spreads when Hjejleselskabet invites children and their families on the cosiest Christmas cruise of the year. In keeping with tradition, M/S Mågen sails out onto the Silkeborg Lakes to find Father Christmas and his elves – and all the children on board are there as little Christmas helpers.
Christmas crafts and Christmas cheer on board
The cruise starts at 9:30 a.m., and on board there is a real Christmas atmosphere with Christmas decorations, cookies and hot drinks. The children can draw Christmas pictures for Father Christmas, make decorations for the Christmas tree and help the Christmas captain keep an eye on the elves.
Welcome to Father Christmas
When Father Christmas is finally spotted, he is warmly welcomed by both children and adults. Perhaps he has a bag of sweets in his sack for the well-behaved children? At 11:00, the boat arrives at the harbour in Silkeborg, where the festivities continue in the town square.
Christmas carols and Christmas stories
At Torvet, Father Christmas is followed to his Christmas hut, while Christmas music fills the air. Here, the children can sing along to well-known Christmas carols, and to finish, Father Christmas reads a Christmas story from the stage – a cosy end to a magical December morning.
