Experience the night sky together as a family

At ‘Night at the Observatory’ for families, the Science Museums in Aarhus invite you to an educational and enjoyable evening where children and adults can explore the universe together. The event takes place at the Ole Rømer Observatory, which is beautifully situated on the outskirts of Aarhus and is one of Denmark’s historic sites for astronomy.

Here you will have the opportunity to experience the night sky in a very special way, as astronomers and guides talk about planets, stars and galaxies.

Look through the telescopes

A central part of the experience is the observatory’s telescopes. Weather permitting, you can view planets, star clusters or the Moon through the telescope and experience outer space up close.

Along the way, the guides will share their knowledge and talk about the mysteries of the universe in language suitable for both children and adults.

Astronomy explained for children

The event is aimed at families with children who are curious about space. The evening features storytelling, stargazing and an introduction to astronomy, so everyone can join in – whether it’s your first time visiting an observatory or not.

Night at the Observatory offers both an insight into our place in the universe and a shared experience for the whole family.

Find the packing list and programme on the website.
