Easter at The Old Town Museum

Easter in Den Gamle By (The Old Town Museum) is always a special and wonderful treat. Spring is coming, spirits are high, and you can clearly feel the vibrancy in the different quarters of the old town.

In the Old Town Museum you can also meet farm hands as well as the people both upstairs and downstairs in period costumes. They always enjoy a good chat. Listen to what it was like to live in Denmark in the old days, and see the tools and implements they had. Perhaps they will even let you try them!

Vibrant street life

- The Baker’s shop, the Ironmonger’s, the Book shop, the Tearoom, and the Merchant's house are all open for business.
- Meet the kitchen maid, the clergyman’s widow, the shop assistant, and the farm hand.
- The horse-drawn carriage travels the streets

The Old Town Museum

In Den Gamle By you get an historical experience and insight of how life and times changed in Denmark, from before the industrial period through modern times in the 1920s, and to a period of welfare as you wander around in atmospheric historical buildings, interiors and accessories.
