Special exhibition and creative activities during Easter
During the Easter holidays, you can experience a special exhibition featuring works by artist Heidi Brinch Hansen at Gammel Estrup. Her colourful brushstrokes and characteristic perspectives give a special touch to the motifs of Danish manor houses. Heidi Brinch Hansen works at the Bifrost Art Academy for outsider art and is known from the DR series Originalerne, which focuses on her portrait paintings.
The exhibition is complemented by activities for both children and adults. In the museum's orangery, you can take part in a creative workshop and paint your own manor house painting. Every day during the Easter holidays, there is also a family tour at 11.30 a.m., where the museum's guides talk about art and manor house life.
The beautiful nature around Gammel Estrup
Enjoy a stroll in the manor garden and experience the spring trickle - or try a walk in the old manor forest on the other side of the main road, or follow the signposted trail in the landscape.
Gammel Estrup Danish Manor Museum
Gammel Estrup Danmarks Herrregårdsmuseum is Denmark's largest manor house museum where you can step into the history of the Danish manor houses. Since 1930, the museum has worked to preserve and develop Gammel Estrup, while at the same time communicating and researching the fascinating stories of the manor houses. Here you can gain insight into everything from magnificent architecture and beautiful landscapes to culture, history, agriculture and economy - both in Denmark and in an international perspective.
