Christmas 'hygge' and festive spirit
Come and see the impressive Christmas tree in the middle of the square being lit up, soak up the atmosphere of beautifully decorated Silkeborg and join in the start of Christmas 2025.
Father Christmas will light the impressive tree in the square, officially kicking off Christmas and the charming Christmas exhibition that stretches from the square and out into all the streets in the city centre.
You can meet Father Christmas in the streets of the town every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, while he shares Silkeborg's Christmas story from the stage in the square on Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. You can also meet the Christmas angel Juliane when she brings Christmas magic to the town on selected days in December.
The playful forest gnomes have also sneaked into the pedestrian streets, and if you are lucky, you can meet them on Sundays in December. Seize the opportunity to experience the festive atmosphere and spot the little gnomes.
