A historic village church
Tranbjerg Church is situated south of Aarhus along the country road between Aarhus and Horsens. The church was originally dedicated to St Ursula and the 11,000 Virgins, as reflected in the altarpiece dating from the late 15th century.
Inside the church, you can explore historical details from various periods. In the late Middle Ages, the original flat ceiling above the chancel was replaced by the cross vault you see today. The pulpit dates from the period 1675–1700.
