In the restaurant, the focal point is people meeting each other by the refectory tables – here is room for both intimate conversations and spontaneous meetings with other guests.
The décor is inspired by former Parisian salons, which were a gathering place for art lovers. Also, the Nordic expression is obvious with the beautiful wooden furniture that has been covered with soft lambskins and the homelike smell of forest, bark and resin from the wood stack.
The food at Spisesalon is traditional with a modern touch, and you will find dishes that will bring childhood memories back to life for most people – simply in an updated version.
The menu changes with the seasons, so the dishes are always presenting the best of seasonal produce. Spisesalon also cooperates with local suppliers that guarantee the ingredients’ quality. At Spisesalon the underlying philosophy is that tradition should be combined with contemporary elements to allow the best of both worlds to emerge.
For the sweet tooth, Spisesalon offers an abundance of tempting cakes.
Only the very best restaurants are mentioned in the Michelin Guide Nordic Cities. The guide describes Spisesalon as: “An informal smørrebrød café, popular with shoppers.”
