Tropical Houses at the Botanical Garden is a green oasis just up the hill from the museum Den Gamle By "The Old Town". Aarhus Botanical Garden were established in 1873 and comprise some of the oldest green spaces in the city. Gently rolling wooded hills lead down to a lake, while the greenhouses offer a great diversity of tropical plants all year round. The park provides an attraction of interest to those who wish to inspect the thousands on plant species on display here. All are labelled in the Danish language and Latin.

The gardens also have a children’s playground on site and it is a popular locations for students. Aarhus Botanical Gardens also contains numerous tropical greenhouses and guided tours of these are available. Here you can see over 4,000 species under glass.
