The 'Strøget' and the other pedestrianised streets in Århus have over 800 shops. Many of these shops can be found in:

850 metres of fascinating shops tightly packed on both sides - some 100 shops in total. In this shopping paradise you can find anything your heart could desire. Århus' pedestrianised high street stretches from the Central Station to the Cathedral. Allow for at least a couple of hours, especially if you want to take in one or two of the adjacent pedestrianised streets.
At the opposite end of town, beyond the Cathedral, lies the ‘Latin Quarter’ – Århus’ oldest quarter. The streets have historical names such as Klostergade (Convent St), Volden (The Rampart) and Borggade (Castle St) – and in the centre of the quarter lies the Pustervig Torv square as a small and cosy oasis, perfect for a break.
In the narrow cobblestone streets the beautiful houses form a creative mixture from trend-setting design shops to shops with small rooms with creaking wooden floors.

Walk the picturesque pavements; enjoy a cappucino in the sun; get that feeling of being in a part of town where anything might happen.

Frederiksbjerg is a quarter which certainly deserves its reputation as “The larder of Århus”. The main street in Frederiksbjerg is the M. P. Bruuns Gade street, stretching south from the Central Station to Skt. Pauls Church as its distinctive end point. The main focal point of this street is the ‘Bruun’s Galleri’, Denmark’s largest city-centre shopping mall with 90 shops on two levels and adjoining the Central Station. And the M. P. Bruuns Gade street is also where you will find the very best delicatessens in the city, such as the ’Kong Gulerod’ gourmet greengrocer's, the ’Bruunsgades Fisk og Vildt’ fishmonger's, and the ’Byens Ost’ cheesemonger's.
Behind Århus’ oldest church, The Church of Our Lady, runs the Vestergade street, made forever famous among the Danes in a song by the local rock group Gnags.
But only a few steps down the street, turn left and then right – and all of sudden you are taken back to a very different time and place, namely the Møllestien, a short picturesque cobblestone street in the heart of Århus. Many regard this as the most beautiful street in Århus: In summer hollyhocks and rambling roses blossom side by side up against the small old houses with their barred windows and timber frames.
