The sparks will be flying from the anvils when Viking smiths from all over Scandinavia gather together at the site by the Viking houses at the Moesgård Museum on 30 and 31 August. This is the annual Nordic Viking Blacksmith Get-Together where the smiths demonstrate one of the very oldest of crafts.

Both children and adults can try their hand at the anvils and have a chat with the many smiths about their work to recreate the old techniques and to make replicas of Viking knives, swords, axes, pots, buckles, and other items for every-day use. Many of the smiths have a stall next to their workshop tents from where you can buy large and small forged items for adornment or for every-day use.
