Aarhus is situated on the coast, with woodlands to the north and south, and green areas and parks spread liberally throughout the central areas and outskirts of the city.

Along the woods to the north and south of the city are beaches typical of the Jutland east coast - idyllically situated close to woodlands and built-up areas, easily accessible with excellent parking and with calm waters perfect for families with children.
