In Den Gamle By (The Old Town) you walk right into a magical world of fairy-tales.

ARoS
A stroll down the cobblestone streets will provide you with a living and breathing experience of life in provincial Denmark as it was in the days of Hans Christian Andersen.

ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum is an architectural gem and a fascinating museum for both adults and children. Most exciting is of course the five metres high statue ‘BOY’. He is true-to-life and perhaps also a bit scary.

Moesgård Museum in the woods south of Århus tells the history of Århus under the Vikings – and also the history that preceded them. Nobody, when first looking upon the extremely well preserved peat-bog corpse of the 2000-year-old Grauballe Man from the Iron Age, can do so without feeling a shiver run down their back.

There are also many fascinating exhibitions at the other historical museum's in the city, such as The Women's Museum, The Steno Museum (the museum of science and medicine), The Natural History Museum and the Aarhus Urban Museum.
