 Musikhuset AarhusAt the inauguration in 2007 of the latest extension of Concert Hall Aarhus, Poul Henningsen - Danish author, architect and culture-critic – was quoted for having said once about the Danes: ”Our state religion is from Palestine, amended by Luther in Germany. Our political system stems from England. Women’s fashion is cut according to French design. Our culture is international.” This certainly applies to Århus where there are always guest performances presented by international theatre, opera and ballet companies. The city also has its own, permanent international stage – the Aarhus International Theatre Company – which always offers performances in English. |
