Christmas Shopping in Aarhus

Come and enjoy Aarhus's bustling atmosphere-filled streets, lanes and shop windows. This year, once again, a sparkling starry sky of half a million pin-points of starlight will be suspended above the pedestrianised high street.

And be sure to visit the Christmas Market inside the atmospheric and beautifully decorated “Ridehuset” Equestrian Hall where you will find artist-craftsmen with their beautiful and unique Danish handicrafts. And, while you are there, you can enjoy a lovely hot cup of coffee or Danish traditional Christmas Grog with delicious home-baking.

Bazar Vest is Scandinavia’s largest bazaar and makes for a wonderfully different shopping trip. Here you will find Turkish and Arab bakers, butchers, Oriental shops, cafés and restaurants, jewellery and gift shops, and much much more. Santa Claus is coming to Aarhus on 25th November
Santa Claus will arrive by ship at the Kaj 12 close to the city centre. From here he will lead the annually recurring Christmas Parade along its route through the atmosphere-filled streets in the city centre.

Arriving at the Town Hall Square Santa Claus and the Mayor of Aarhus Jacob Bundsgaard will lit the christmas tree at 7.30pm

On this evening, the shops will stay open until 11pm.
